I am an artist, based in Los Angeles, specializing in site-specific public art projects. My interest is in coaxing an awareness of life’s poetic and metaphoric possibilities through the subtle manipulation of familiar objects. I use deceptively simple optical illusions to question assumptions about the material world. This strategy mirrors my belief that the sublime, revelatory, and divine are often in plain view, yet commonly overlooked.
An advocate for social justice, I share the conviction of the 20th century muralist tradition that voices of disenfranchised communities need to be heard to preserve our democracy. I believe in public art’s ability to make us pause, remember and rediscover our shared humanity.
I hold BFA and MFA degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My work has been exhibited in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and throughout Texas. My permanent public artworks are located in Los Angeles, Culver City and upcoming, in Santa Monica.
In 2014, I launched Site-specific, a web design business, combining my professional experience in graphic design, museum collections management and sensitivity in creating site-specific artwork.
